The Internal Auditor’s Office shall strive to conduct work in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors and with Government Auditing Standards promulgated by the Comptroller General of the United States (General Accounting Office).Determine whether employees’ actions are in compliance with policies, standards, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.Confirm adequate operating and administrative procedures and practices, systems, and/or internal control systems have been established by management.Verify significant financial, managerial, and operating information is accurate, reliable, and timely.Ensure revenues are being properly collected, deposited, and accounted for and that resources are acquired economically, used efficiently, and adequately safeguarded.
